The Department of Water has scheduled a water outage for the Nawiliwili area from 11 p.m. on Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday, according to a county news release. The shutdown will allow DOW’s contractor Goodfellow Bros. to do work on the existing water pipeline.
This project is part of Water Plan 2020, a long range plan to replace or repair aging infrastructure.
During the shutdown, customers along Rice Street from the Lala Road intersection to the Moko‘i Street intersection as well as those along Pa‘ena and Kalapaki roads will have no water service including: Kaua‘i Marriott Beach Resort; Pali Kai Cottages; Harbor Mall; and Anchor Cove Shopping Center.
A detailed map of all affected streets can be viewed online at www.kauaiwater.org.
Affected customers are advised to take the following steps:
• Store enough water to meet their needs during the outage.
• Notify family, friends and neighbors that may be affected by the outage.
• Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heaters do not empty during the outage.
