What a surprise to get Mokihana Aquatics Coach Orlando “O” Anaya to share the microphone with Jason Fujinaka Wednesday! That was a first, and the Mokihana Aquatics Fun Meet is the biggest meet in 24 outings … 108 swimmers and more than 1,000 events over Saturday and Sunday at the Kaua‘i High School pool!
It will be sad not seeing Gracie Stokes among the swimmers, but it’s all right. Gracie is with her family getting Chloe settled in at college. We’ll catch her on the next go-round.
But Lloyd Yonemura, aka the Moloka‘i Flash, will be here (he was here last week for the senior softball) and maybe Kenneth Kimura will be able to pass along one of his Kaua‘i Lagoons golf specials between the meets since Coach O said the Moloka‘i Flash loves golf!
And, don’t forget to check out Shelly Gerardo and the Special Olympics Kaua‘i at Kukui Grove Center Saturday from 10 a.m. J.C. Crouch will definitely be there and so will the Kaua‘i Harley Owners Group … their big ride comes up Aug. 26.
Happy birthday, Karen Alapa‘i (she’s Clarissa Chun’s aunt) who spend her special day sign-waving.
