Toby Ledward
Toby Hjalmar Ledward died on July 13, 2012 at Kona Community Hospital at the age of 40, Captain Cook. He was born in Honolulu on May 10, 1972. He was a mason for Island Rock Masonry.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Ledward.
He is survived by his companion, Nicole Namordi of Kailua-Kona; sons, Loren Ledward of Waikoloa, Joshua Kirihara Ledward of Kealia; daughter, Harley Ledward of Captain Cook; parents, Lena (Anthony) Perez of Milolii Mauka; step-mother; Mary Ledward of Kauai; brothers, Erik Perez of Milolii Mauka, Chip Neikter of Maui, Kapena Ledward of Kauai; sister, Mahina (Curt) Ventura of Kauai; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Pine Trees, Hanalei at 4 p.m.
Charles A. Peterson Jr.
Charles A. “Pete” Peterson Jr. of Kapa‘a passed away at home on July 18, 2012 at the age of 91. Born in Stanley, North Carolina on July 1, 1921, he operated the Santa Catalina Mooring Service until his retirement in 1983. He was a decorated veteran of the United States Army.
Pete was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy.
He is survived by his son Bill Peterson of Kapa‘a; his granddaughter, Kellie Peterson of Corona Del Mar, California, his grandson Colin Peterson of Dallas, Texas; and his great-granddaughter, Emma Clare Peterson.
A celebration of his life with military honors will be held at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Hanapepe on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 9 a.m. Donations in memory of Charles A. Peterson Jr. can be made to the Kauai Hospice.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Battie Domingsel
Battie “Takanini” L. Domingsel of Lihu‘e passed away on Aug. 1, 2012, at her residence in Lihu‘e at the age of 61. Born on Oct. 9, 1950 in Honolulu, O‘ahu, she was a meal manager with KEO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Betty Keala.
She is survived by her husband, Benito “Ben” Domingsel; sons, George (Berta Heath) Keala, Keala Domingsel and Kawika Domingsel; daughter, Haunani Domingsel; grandchildren, Piilani (Marleto Tomas) Keala and Kaleo Keala; great-grandchildren, Zaeden Keala-Tomas; sisters, Mary Keala and Napua Thatcher; brother, John (Judy) Keala; numerous aunties and uncles, nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of her life on Friday at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary Chapel.
Visitation at 5:30 p.m. Service at 6:30 p.m. Family suggests casual attire.

Robert Riggan
Robert “Boots” Vaihiria Riggan of Lihue, Kauai, died on August 11, 2012 at Home at the age of 67. He was born on October 31, 1944 in Oahu, Hawaii. He was a Tour Escort with Aloha Hawaii Travel and Director of Housekeeping with Waiohai Hotel.
Preceded in death by his parents, William Robert Riggan and Miriam Nanialii Kemp.
He is survived by his son, Randy (Sady) Riggan of Kapaa; three daughters, Elise Riggan (Chico) Lazaro of Kekaha, Chanda Riggan Takamura of Kekaha, and Trixy Vaihiria Riggan of Sacramento, Calif; brother, James (Francine) Riggan of Tennessee; two sisters, Suzanne Thompson of Oahu and Linda Riggan of Nevada; granddaughter, Taylor Lazaro; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Private services will be held at a later date.

Susie “Tootsie” Hiiakaikapoliopele Neiva of Wailua died at Queens Medical Center on July 23, 2012 at the age of 61. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 14, 1950, she was a cashier at Walmart.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward K. Smythe and mother Julia K. Johnson.
She is survived by her husband, Emilio Neiva Jr.; daughter, Carla Keonaona (Craig) Ishida; stepmom, Thelma (Stephen) Robello; brother, Tom (Shushu) Smythe of Oahu; sister, Nani (Stephen) Ortiz of Oahu; Aunty Noelani Smythe of Kauai and Julie Chaikin of California; Grandkids, Chris (Melinda) Ishida of Lihue, Daniel (Honey) Ishida of Kapahi, Brandon Ishida, Ashley Ishida and Isaiah Ishida of Kapahi and great-grandkids Kenji Ishida, Kanoa Ishida and Nyleiah Ishida, numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Wailua Marina Restaurant. Friends may visit with the family at 10 a.m. Service to be held at 11 a.m.
