In Chief Judge Randal Valenciano’s court, Waynette Leialohalani Morikawa, 39, of Anahola, was sentenced to time served and a year’s probation for a fourth-degree promotion of a harmful drug charge.
Wayne Maurice Gonsalves Perreira Jr., 39, of Hanama‘ulu, was brought in from O‘ahu where he is held pending sentencing on federal charges on Sept. 4. His felony drug cases in both circuit courts are scheduled to follow on Oct. 2.
Jesse Anthony Rodrigues, 32, of Kapa‘a, failed to appear for a hearing on his motion for severance of charges on felony drug charges from co-defendants Louis Kamal Salibi, Alicia Jean Nakamura and Rosario Ragasa. The motion was withdrawn by counsel.
Rick Comstock, 59, of Lihu‘e, pleaded no contest to abuse of family or household member from an April 14 incident. A second charge of interfering with a report was dismissed. The charge carries a two-day minimum jail term. Sentencing is set for Nov. 8.
Dominic Damon Rosa, 45, of Kapa‘a, chose to accept the court’s offer for Valenciano offer to recuse himself as the judge in his change of plea for driving with a suspended license. Rosa was a client of Valenciano when he was in private practice, and sent the matter to Judge Kathleen Watanabe on Aug. 7.
Gerardo Regidor Learned Jr., 22, of Wainiha, forfeited his bail or bond for failing to appear for a status hearing. He is facing six drug charges.
The prosecution withdrew its motion to modify or revoke the probation of Asa Blue Jay Gasaway, 42, of Kapa‘a. He tested negative for the presence of drugs in his system and was cautioned to be more punctual at required meetings and appointments.
Maria Navarro, of Maui, had a motion granted to leave the state for 10 days to bring her children to Hawai‘i. She is facing first-degree unauthorized entry, fourth-degree theft, credit card theft and identity theft charges.
Gregory Ted Preston, 54, of Lihu‘e, received a new court-appointed attorney for theft cases in both circuit courts. He remains in custody while his bail study is completed with a scheduled Aug. 7 hearing.
Lehualeilani Keala Kauo, 34, of Lihu‘e, was declared fit to proceed to trial from recommendations of a medical panel. Her trial date for assault, harassment, illegal entry and property damage charges is set for Dec. 17.
In Watanabe’s court, Macy Eleinoauikoaloha Someda-Dill, 20, of Lihu‘e, entered a no contest change of plea to unauthorized control. She was sentenced to a year probation with a deferment of sentence.
Rosario Judson Cajigal Ragasa, 25, of Kapa‘a, will have a hearing on Sept. 19 to determine whether he is fit for trial. He is charged with first- and second-degree assault against a police officer and resisting arrest.
