Addressing “Smart Meters, Not Dumb Rumors” by Mr. Blankenship
Same story: It was considered a “witch hunt,” at one time, when science was reporting cigarettes cause cancer. Now it is classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) as Group 3 Carcinogens, which means the agent is carcinogenic to humans.
At one time, tobacco, in essence, shared the same classification as the type of radiation given off by Smart Meters, which is designated by the IARC as a Group 2B Carcinogen, which means the agent is possibly carcinogenic to humans.
Understand statistical research in death rates drives the classification upward or downward. With that, note both tobacco and this radiation would have been classified by the IARC as Group 3, which translates non-cancer causing.
The FCC’s role in safety? The FCC is interested in public safety, which involves the prevention of and protection from events that could endanger the safety of the general public from significant danger, injury/harm, or damage, such as crimes or disasters. The FCC has nothing to do with determining if a Smart Meter’s has a negative impact on the human body. It is not their job or concern. The FCC approval mark means nothing in this respect.
Mr. Blankenship has a degree in electronic engineering. Note this degree has nothing to do with the study of radiation and its affects on the human body.
Word to the wise, and this includes Mr. Blankenship, do your research. Mr. Blankenship’s minimization of the danger’s of EMF is reckless, if not absurd.

TGI’s online policy
Finally, it appears that some kicked themselves to the curb, which thankfully caused The Garden Island newspaper to begin monitoring the Forum and online discussion and implementing excellent changes. It’s a shame that a few always spoil it for the rest of us. It’s sort of like the boulders and yellow gates that have for several decades kept us out of haul cane roads, bass fishing or the first install of now 150+ stop lights on Rice/Kalena streets.
I wish I could be the person reviewing all the garbage that warrants editing, but not necessarily being the one who says yay or nay to what gets in and what doesn’t.
There is a fine line between freedom of speech or press and editing nasty uncalled for rebuff’s. I’ve always wondered in 40 years of forum writings, why only Mr. Walter Lewis had the courage to comment on my writings and agree to disagree.
In this instance, I was unfairly attacked at asserting my opinion and that’s not supposed to count? Not one of you would ever present yourself, and now you hide behind whatever your names are. It’s all good, God bless and I’ll pray for us all.

Alarmed by hateful, political attacks
I’ve lived in the Aloha state all of my life. As we all know, Mufi Hannemann’s divisive campaign against Governor Abercrombie in 2010 brought a new low to Hawai‘i politics. Now that Tulsi Gabbard is neck and neck with Hannemann, I’ve been alarmed at the intensely personal and hateful attacks I’ve been seeing against her on the Internet — not only by Mufi’s supporters, but by Esther Kia‘aina’s and even Bob Marx’s supporters as well. Regardless of who wins the race, we all lose if we allow ourselves to be dragged into this type of mudslinging.
