Melissa McFerrin came to relieve Dena Peoples of California who was vending the Plantation Days’ shirts and Brandie Joseph (she still rodeos) had to move her concierge desk outside so she could help shoppers with all of the vendors.
Judy Webb said most of the vendors will be at the Saturday celebration in the park.
Aletha Thomas (she had mango seed jam) said she’ll be at the fair (look for her piece on OC16 toward the end of August) along with the Salty Wahine. Actually, the mango seed jam is labeled “Five-spice Mango” and Aletha said it tastes almost like mango seed, except it has no seed to suck on.
Hats off to Merriman’s Executive Chef Mark Arriola who came up with a Merriman’s version of the plate lunch — the Apple Banana Malasada aroma caught everyone’s attention when it was brought to the table.
