Conception Gambeng
Concepcion “Conching” Suniga Gambeng of Lihu‘e died at Straub Clinic and Hospital on June 28, 2012, at the age of 87. She was born in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on September 12, 1924, and retired as a landscaper with Kaua‘i Nursery and Landscaping.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nemesio B. Gambeng, son, Milfred Gambeng, son-in-law, Ricarte Cuadro, grandson, Andy Paul Gambeng and great-grandson, Michael Timothy Gambeng. She is survived by one sister, Martina E. Saoit; seven children, Leticia (Amado) Gamiao, Franklin (Yolanda) Gambeng, Edwin (Aniceta) Gambeng, Nancy Cuadro, Marlyn (Ali) Domingo, Evangeline (Sam) Gasmen, Jeffrey (Mimi) Gambeng Sr.; 29 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Gambeng family with arrangements.
Sharron J. Cordes
Sharron Jean (Crawford) Cordes of Kalaheo, Kaua‘i passed away on July 2, 2012, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 69. She was born on Sept. 24, 1942, in Glendale, Calif. Sharron worked at Elks Club, Waikiki as a food waitress.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel R. Cordes, having recently celebrating their 30th anniversary; brother, Gerald (Charlotte) Crawford of Burbank, Calif.; nephew, Douglas (Felicia) Crawford of Burbank, Calif.; and niece Janise (Eric) Stonerook of Acton, Calif.
Friends may visit at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawa‘i on Monday at 11 a.m. Ashes will be scattered at a later date.
Family suggests casual attire and flowers are open.

Beatriz Nidea
Beatriz Obong Nidea of Kapa‘a, Kaua‘i, passed away at her home on June 26, 2012, at the age of 90. Born on March 23, 1922, in the Philippines, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents Isodoro and Jacinta Obong and her grandson Cres Ramos, Jr.
She is survived by her husband Alberto Nodea, Sr.; daughter, Becky (Cres) Ramos, Sr.; son, Alberto (Cherryann) Nidea, Jr.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapa‘a from 8 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Catherine’s Church Cemetery.

Florence Kazuko Miyashiro
Florence Kazuko Miyashiro of Kapa‘a, Kaua‘i died on July 14, 2012, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 84. She was born August 10, 1927, in Sacramento, Calif. She was a teacher with Kaua‘i High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Miyashiro; brother, Tamotsu (George) Nagano; and sister-in-law, Natsuyo Nagano.
She is survived by her son, Gary (Rose Tamura) Miyashiro of Connecticut; two daughters, Stephanie Miyashiro of California and Laura L. Miyashiro of Kaua‘i; a brother, Michael (Beverly) Nagano of Lihu‘e; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday, August 10, 2012, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawa‘i. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Service will begin at 10 a.m.
Family suggests casual attire and flowers be omitted.

Edwin M. Kamishita
Edwin Masumi Kamishita of Waimea, Kaua‘i, died on July 13, 2012, at home at the age of 59. He was born on Sept. 9, 1952, in Waimea, Kaua‘i. He was a barber.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hiroji and Orleen Kamishita.
He is survived by his two brothers, Clyde Kamishita of Honolulu and Galen Kamishita of Waimea; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Services will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2012, at the Waimea Honpa Hongwanji. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Service to begin at 4:30 p.m. Family suggests casual attire and flowers be omitted.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kaua‘i Hospice in memory of Edwin Kamishita.

Dwayne Reis
Dwayne Scott Reis of Hanama‘ulu died at his home on July 23, 2012, at the age of 51. He was born in Lawa‘i, Kaua‘i on April 22, 1961.
He is survived by his father, Harry Reis of Oma‘o; one sister, Ginger of the Big Island; one nephew and two nieces.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
