At approximately 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, beachgoers notified Police Dispatch of a body floating in the water about one-quarter of a mile east of Shipwreck’s Beach.
Firefighters were first on scene and located an unresponsive Caucasian male, possibly in his 30s. Rescue 3 aboard Air 1 assisted the Kaua‘i Police Department in recovering the body, the spokesperson said. He has not yet been identified.
The incident remains under police investigation.
