Shriners Hospitals for Children – Honolulu will hold outreach clinics at the Bone and Joint Center at Kaua‘i Medical Clinic, adjacent to the Wilcox Memorial Hospital from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 8 to 10, according to a press release.
Members of the Shriners Hospital team will screen new patients with orthopedic conditions who may qualify for care at the Honolulu hospital and provide follow-up care for Kaua‘i patients who are receiving ongoing care from Shriners Hospital, the release states.
There are two qualifications for care at Shriners Hospital: Children must be under age 18 and have an orthopedic condition that can be treated.
All care at the hospital is provided to a child, regardless of the patient’s family ability to pay.
The Shriners of the Aloha Temple have a patient/transportation fund, which is used for patients from Kaua‘i and the neighbor islands who may be eligible for transportation assistance to receive care at the Honolulu hospital.
A doctor’s referral is not necessary for care at Shriners Hospital. To schedule an appointment call Sandy Zukeran at (808) 951-3614 or (808) 375-9479.
