Originally a summer drink developed in Spain and Portugal, sangria is a punch that normally consists of wine, sliced fruit and tropical juices.
The sangrias at Josselin’s are uniquely served. Andrew Ha, a co-owner of Josselin’s, explained the unique process of the sangria experience: “We serve it with a little bit of a twist — serving it tableside. The whole tableside idea comes from Chinese dim sum restaurants. You see carts being wheeled table to table, offering dim sum. That’s the same process when it comes to our sangria.”
Ha said the idea of having customers see the serving process makes it easier for them to make a choice, rather than having them read it off a menu. He was right. As I watched him roll the sangria cart closer and closer, I became fascinated and curious about its contents.
Three different sangrias are served to perfection at Josselin’s: the lychee sangria, priced at $9.50, the classic red sangria, priced at $9.50, and the mango sangria, priced at $10.50. All three sangrias are garnished with citrus fruits.
Mango sangria
The mango sangria consists of Funkin Mango Puree, pinot grigio, Malibu Mango Rum, fresh citrus fruits and tropical juices. If you are a lover of sweet cocktails, then you’re going to love this sangria — especially on these hot summer days. When you’re craving a drink, this sangria will cool you off with its refreshing taste and completely satisfy your thirst for a strong yet sweet refreshment.
