Hats off to the Kawaihau Majors All-Stars on a great game Saturday at the District 1 playoffs, coming from a Kaneohe no-hitter to edge out the big boys, 1-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Welcome back to Kaua‘i, Bob Kawamoto (he really likes this island), and great job putting everything together, Coach Jason Nagahisa! Bryan Aiwohi is with the big boys on O‘ahu where they are enjoying their share of wins as well.

Arlene Yoshimori works really hard, but did she take off to go watch Kobe Viloria play on O‘ahu?
Kobe got the win with Aaron Renaud helping and Austin Maghanoy leading the Kaua‘i bats in that win.
And now we know it’s baseball since Gordan Muramaru was at the District 1 game and Mark Hadama is one of the Kaneohe coaches. Ron Kosen was busy getting in a game before an afternoon wedding and Jessie Castro had his usual arsenal of big guns.
The games continue through Tuesday (championship game is 4 p.m. in Kapa‘a) and there is good food and some tournament sportswear as well.
