Congratulations to Kelli Pleas, Chef Richard Dias and the crew of the Puakea Golf Course on the opening of the Ho‘okipa Cafe which is not just for golfers.
Melissa Ludwig had her intern Ashley Short on hand for the event and everyone from the FM97 team was there except for Jason Fujinaka (has anyone figured out if he got married, or not?).
Food is on the menu for all those things taking place this weekend. Chef Carla Dussenberry had some Fuzzy Dogs since the Pronto Pups weren’t ready during the Tuesday night bon dance practice at the Hanapepe Soto Zen Temple. Gerald Hirata was juggling between the Hui Alu Okinawa Club and the Sanshin Club (doesn’t Kawehi Tamashiro have a swim meet this weekend?) in preparation for this weekend’s bon dance.
Kudos and congratulations to Joyce Akagi-Nagata (she was at bon dance practice, too) on the 40th anniversary of the Kilauea Senior Center. Mel Rapozo found out Ellen Rapozo, Mother of the Year, and his grandparents were good friends, and Eddie Perreira, Father of the Year, was able to spend some time chatting with Jay Furfaro while waiting on the buffet line at the Kaua‘i Beach Resort.
