Kenji Miyata, Pono Tokioka and Jamie Amimoto are three Kaua‘i Junior Golfers who will be among the field of 58 Juniors from across the state at the Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association 2012 King Auto Group 13-18 State Junior Championships.
Kenji Miyata, Pono Tokioka and Jamie Amimoto are three Kaua‘i Junior Golfers who will be among the field of 58 Juniors from across the state at the Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association 2012 King Auto Group 13-18 State Junior Championships.
The tournament will play Tuesday and Wednesday at The Club at Hokulia on the Big Island kand will include players in the 13-14 age group and the 15-18 division.
Scores from Round 1, played Tuesday, will be counted towards the Trusted Choice Big “I” Qualifiers for those who are entered. The Qualifier will award one girl and two boys to attend the national championship on Aug. 7 through 10 in Austin, Texas at the University of Texas Golf Course.
The HSJGA has also been given four exemptions to the Future Champions Golf Callaway World Match Play Championship at Steele Canyon Golf Club in San Diego, Calif., July 22 through 25.
These exemptions will be awarded to the Champion and second place winners in the Boys 15-18 and the Girls 13-18 division of the State Junior Championship.
The King Auto Group State Championship and The Big “I” Qualifier are the last opportunities for Juniors to earn points for national team selection: the Mary Cave Cup, the Eddie Hogan Cup, Junior America’s Cup and Girls Junior America’s Cup.
The Girls’ Junior America’s Cup will be hosted by the HSJGA and Wailua Golf Club, July 23 through 29.
