Mufi Hannemann had a busy Friday afternoon, made even busier since Hawaiian Airlines was delayed.
Mufi had to present the Harvard Book Awards to Ember Teter and Noe Murray (wait until Henry grows up!).
But in addition to the Book Awards, Ember’s sister Reina is home from college and got to be congratulated by Mufi for an art award she earned while at Waimea High School but was unable to attend the awards ceremony.
From there, Mufi was off to meet University of Hawai‘i football coach Norm Chow (great job with the “Meet the Coach” reception, Mark Oyama and crew!) and who knows what else he had to do.
Mahalo to Kelvin Moniz for the heads-up on the East Kaua‘i Lions Club scholarship recipients (great job, recipients!) and Lion Roy Nishida is already looking ahead to the arrival of the WE caravan of free health screenings later this month.
Happy Kamehameha Day, Kaua‘i! For those who don’t have to work, have a safe and fun day off.
It’s off to check out the Kawaihau Community Little League Minors All-Stars who leave for their District playoffs Thursday.
