Manny Pescador fired off 14 points, including three from outside the three-point arc, to lead Manny’s Sports to a 59-44 win over Westside Pride Tuesday night in the first of three Men’s 18 and Over basketball games at the Bernice Hundley Gym in Kapa‘a.
Following Pescador, Spam Lindsey ended with 11 points on five buckets and a “Plus-one” in the win.
Michael Sagucio set the pace for Westside Pride with 13 points, combining with Reynante Villanueva’s dozen on four treys.
Matthew Cummings came alive in the second half to bucket 11 points to lead Hanakila to a 52-43 win over G.E.K. in the second match, Angelito Roslin finishing with eight points in the win, which came after Hanakila battled back from a 23-17 halftime deficit and outscoring G.E.K. 30-20 in the second half.
Mike Sanders, the big man for G.E.K., finished with a game-high 15 points followed by Aaron Hesapene’s 10.
Sean Allen and Darren Takashima each ended with a dozen points to lead the SupaStars to a 54-41 edge over the Ramblas in the nightcap, Scott Rabago ending with a game-high 15 points, including a pair of three-balls, to lead the Ramblas.
Brendan McDaniels and Kasey Okihara each added eight points following Rabago’s lead.
Karen Matsumoto, the league’s coordinator, said there is one game between the SupaStars and G.E.K. which will be played following the 17 and Under Boys Tournament Thursday at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
There will also be final league make-up games Tuesday at the Bernice Hundley Gym before the final four teams are named to the league playoffs and finals.
