If you love cold deserts and ono grinds, Cool Comfort established in November 2010 is just the place for you. Who doesn’t love cold deserts? A sign in Cool Comfort testifies: “Dieting Sucks. I want ICE CREAM.”
Cool Comfort is located at 8171 Kekaha Rd., next to Menehune Food Mart and adjacent to Koke’e Road.
Aside from all the delicious cold deserts and wonderful array of grinds, it is the bubble drink which stands out as the store’s star.
Kari Sueyasu, owner of Cool Comfort, said that it’s a really easy drink to make.
“All it takes to make this drink is flavored power, simple syrup, ice, creamer or milk and a good blender,” Seuyasu explained.
The secret, however, to this sweet drink is your choice of chewy pearls that lies on the bottom.
There are three types of chewy pearls and an abundance of flavors to choose from. You have a choice between brown or colored tapioca, lychee or passion fruit juice pearls and strawberry or mango mochi balls.
Tapioca filled bubble drinks are priced at $3.95, while juice pearl and mochi ball drinks are priced at $4.50.
There are more than 22 different flavors to choose from, among them are banana, strawberry, mango and ube.
“Our most popular drink is definitely the honeydew,” Seuyasu pointed out.
Seuyasu quickly made a honeydew bubble drink and filled it with strawberry mochi balls. If the cold honeydew slush was heaven, then the chewy strawberry mochi balls were bliss. One sip of the drink was enough to turn me into a convert. It’s refreshingly cold flavored mixture, combined with its chewy sweet pearls is reason enough to visit this family-friendly store.
Cool Comfort offers a special punch card for its bubble drinks: Buy nine bubble drinks and get the 10th for free.
