KAPA‘A — Entry forms for the free Deja Vu Surf Hawai‘i keiki surf contest are now available at www.dejavusurf.com, Deja Vu Surf Hawai‘i at the Kukui Grove Center, Deja Vu Surf Outlet in Kapa‘a, and Quiksilver at The Shops at Kukui‘ula.
Deadline for entry into the contest is June 6.
The contest will unfold June 9 starting at 8 a.m. at Kealia Beach and entries will be limited to the first 120 keiki in four surfing divisions, including Menehune (ages 11 and under), Boys ages 12-13, Boys ages 14-15, Girls ages 12-15 and two bodyboarding divisions, ages 12 and Under and ages 13-15.
“We encourage all interested youth to join us,” said Tad Miura, president of Deja Vu Surf Hawai‘i. “We are so happy to be able to sponsor this event which is free to all competitors and promotes a fun, healthy activity for young people.”
Competitors will be offered a free lunch as well as an opportunity for free prizes.
Individuals ranked in the Top Six of Hawai‘i Surfing Federation, Kaua‘i and National Scholastic Surfing Association are ineligible for this competition.
