LIHU‘E — The Honolulu City Slickers will face the ‘Ewa Heat and the Shockers will play Ha‘aheo O Maui in the semifinals of the the Bronco division starting at 8 a.m. at Isenberg Park.
The Shockers, scoring 49 runs over three games and not allowing a single run, will meet Ha‘aheo O Maui at the Lihu‘e County Park Main Diamond.
The Mustang division will feature an all-O‘ahu semifinals when the ‘Ewa Canefires will face the Honolulu Cardinals at the Pinto field and the Mililani Orioles will be going up against the ‘Aiea Blackbirds starting at 8 a.m. at the Mustang field.
The Lihu‘e Baseball League, host of the Eighth Da Bash baseball tournament, held on to hopes as its Mustang division champion Yankees went to battle against the Blackbirds Sunday, finishing with a 6-1 defeat at the hands of ‘Aiea. ‘Aiea will advance with a 3-0 record to take the D Pool, the Yankees finishing with a 2-1 record in pool play after edging past the KKYBL Dodgers 5-4 Saturday and flying past the Lihu‘e Cardinals 12-1 Saturday.
The Honolulu Cardinals, opening Da Bash with an 8-1 win over the Lihu‘e Orioles, shut down the Lihu‘e Rangers and clinched a semifinal berth with a 9-5 win over Kaizen in the B Pool.
The ‘Ewa Canefires hit the ground running, shutting down the Lihu‘e Giants 14-0 in the opening round, edging past the Dirtbags 2-1 and downing Ha‘aheo O Maui 4-1 to make the semifinals.
The City Slickers, opening play Saturday, shut down Hekili 4-0 before getting past the Pearl City Naturals 9-2, clinching a semifinal berth at Isenberg Park with a 4-1 win over the Lihu‘e Tigers, the LBL Bronco division champions, Sunday.
‘Ewa Heat shut down the Waiakea Marlins 8-0 and seared the Lihu‘e Brewers 19-5 before clinching its semifinal spot at Isenberg Park with a 7-0 shutout over the Makakilo Dodgers Sunday.
The Shockers entered the fray Saturday, zapping the Windward Cardinals 17-0 before shutting down Kaizen 22-0 in the double-header. The Shockers continued their shutout, taking the Lihu‘e Marlins 10-0, Sunday to advance against Ha‘aheo O Maui Broncos.
Ha‘aheo O Maui opened with a 10-run edge over the Lihu‘e Phillies 12-2, advancing to shut down Westside (from Kaua‘i) 11-0 and clinching a semifinal berth with a win over the Makakilo Phillies Sunday.
The winners of the semifinals in both the Mustang and Bronco divisions will play for Da Bash championship starting at noon at Lihu‘e County Park.
