As a result of community feedback and its overall efforts to improve bus service, the county’s Transportation Agency will be implementing changes to several of its Kaua‘i Bus stops next week, according to a news release.
These changes will take effect May 31.
In ‘Ele‘ele, the bus stop located in front of the Ace Hardware store will be moved to the intersection of Okupu St. and Waialo Rd. between ‘Ele‘ele Shopping Center and Keala‘ula Subdivision.
In Lihu’e, the Pi‘ikoi Building and Historic County Building bus stops will be removed from the Lihu‘e lunch shuttle route. Both locations will be served by the Lihu‘e Civic Center stop located on Hardy St.
Another bus stop that will be removed is the one located in Kapa‘a across from St. Catherine School, which is currently part of the Kapahi shuttle route. This location will be served by the Kapa‘a High School pavilion bus stop during non-school hours and the Mahelona Hospital foyer stop during school hours.
