Brian Yamamoto is still on the sidelines giving cues to the graduates and congratulations to Francis Takahashi on earning the Regents Excellence in Teaching Award (is Tom Shigemoto going to do this honor next year?). The program listed Dr. Ramon de la Pena as the presenter, but Michael Dahilig did the honors.
Kudos to Sgt. Ian Versamy (haven’t seen too much of him since Air Riflery days) and the Kapa‘a High School Junior ROTC color guard on their smooth presentation of the colors … and is Tawna Soltysik related to Steve Soltysik?
Chef Martina Hildorfer, Steve Nakata and Duane Miyasato didn’t let graduation stop them from getting the culinary arts students to turn out early Saturday to help at the Visitor Industry Charity Walk.
The same applied to Kapa‘a football coach Keli‘i Morgado and his staff who had the football team at the finish line following the Green-and-White game Friday night at Vidinha Stadium.
