HANALEI — Kaua‘i Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man found dead near Queen’s Bath in Princeville on Sunday.
Preliminary results of the autopsy reveal that the man died from multiple injuries consistent with a fall, including blunt head trauma. There is no evidence to suggest foul play at this time.
Police describe him as a young man, under the age of 30. He was 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighed roughly 190 pounds. He had dark brown or black hair.
The man was wearing black and white floral surf shorts and had no tattoos or other identifiable features. There was no identification on him or near the area where his body was found.
According to police, he does not match the description of anyone currently reported missing. Authorities believe he had been dead for at least a day when he was found.
A beachgoer discovered the body off of the Queen’s Bath Trail on Sunday and notified authorities. With the assistance of the Kaua‘i Fire Department, police recovered the body via Air at around 3:30 p.m.
