PRINCEVILLE — A 35-year-old Kapa‘a woman died from her injuries after a traffic collision in Princeville Tuesday morning, according to county officials.
The woman was heading north on Kuhio Highway near the Kapaka Street junction at about 10:15 a.m. when her green Ford SUV was rear-ended by a white Ford pickup truck, states a county news release.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 43-year-old Kalaheo man, sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment.
Police closed Kuhio Highway for roughly an hour and a half while crews worked to clear the roadway.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The crash remains under investigation.
This is the second traffic fatality on Kaua‘i this year.
