LIHU‘E — Larry Defontorum claimed the Open division crown last week during the Kaua‘i Bodyboarding Association’s first event of the 2012 season.
The event, put on in memory of Andrew “Skinny” Einck, was held at Running Waters and featured “boostable” two-to-four foot wedges, a KBA release states.
In the Junior Men finals, Tanner McDaniel edged Trever Singer for the crown, with Dylan Garney and Dustin Ikehara finishing third and fourth.
In the Drop Knee final, Kalani Kaulili finished first ahead of Defontorum, Chris Patricio and Alan Hoffman.
Abe Balmores finished second in the Open division, followed by Michael Raithaus and Patricio.
The next KBA event is slated for June at Shipwrecks.
