Lifeguards remained at the two North Shore beaches throughout the day to notify beach-goers of the closure. Both beaches will reopen as early as today if surf conditions improve, the Fire Department reported.
Swimmers were advised to swim at guarded beaches in Po‘ipu and Salt Pond on Tuesday.
