LAWA‘I — Just because your kitchen is in Lawa‘i does not mean the good food needs to stay in Lawa‘i.
Starting today, Lanakila Kitchens will change its hours and offer dinner to go, featuring fresh, local favorites in dinner-sized packages.
“The hours at Lanakila Kitchen, located near the Lawa‘i Post Office, will change its hours from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.,” said Chef Frank Fuillermo.
“The new hours will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. so people can pick up dinner to go. We won’t be doing breakfast — just lunch and dinner,” he said.
The steam tables featuring daily specials and hot dishes will be available throughout the open hours along with salads, sandwiches and wraps.
Customers can pick up meals between 3 and 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
“Customers have been asking for take-out dinner options, and we’re happy to help,” Carol Horner, the Lanakila Kitchen Kaua‘i project manager, states in a news release.
“Our dinners are for those days when the long work day leaves you craving a good meal without the chore of cooking and dishes. And you can feel good knowing that the purchase of your meal directly supports training and employment opportunities for people with challenged lives on Kaua‘i,” Horner said.
Dinners will include a salad, side dish, main course and dessert and serves up to four adults for $49.
There will be just 10 packages available each day, so customers are encouraged to call early to avoid disappointment.
Payment can be in cash, check, or credit card.
Daily dinner specials can be found by visiting www.lanakilakitchen.org, calling 332-5500 or on Facebook and Twitter #LKKauai.
