The National Weather Service has canceled the flash flood warning for Kaua‘i, but the island will remain under a flash flood watch until 6 a.m. Monday.
Due to the heavy rains over the past 24 hours, Public Works crews were dispatched to clear debris from Awawa Road in Hanapepe. Repairs are under way at a roadway collapse on Kuhio Highway near Mile Marker 22 in Kilauea, and the state Department of Transportation will keep the right shoulder of the north-bound highway barricaded until repairs are completed.
Roads that were closed earlier have reopened, including Kahumoku Road near Lala Road, Rice Street between Hardy Street and Hoolako Street, Haua‘ala Road Bridge in Kapa‘a, Kuhio Highway near Hanalei Bridge in Hanalei, and Waimea Road between Alawai Road and Big Save in Waimea.
In Po‘ipu, Hoone Road, closed since 10 a.m., remains closed, as does Weli Weli Road, Hapa Road and Ala Kinoike in Koloa Town.
