The time conundrum is exactly what it sounds like … confusing! Conundrum is defined by dictionary.com as anything that puzzles. Time is definitely in that category! Especially as a wife and a mother do I often wonder, just where does the time go? I feel like the whole day can go by and all I’ve done is run around in circles in my house.
Where is all the time? I feel like I had a storehouse of it when I was just a maiden, free to do what I wanted, when I wanted. What a conundrum that is to me now. Maybe this is part of the maturation process; learning about time management, priorities, organization, and planning. Something I’ve never really been good at, but always wanting to lean about. Usually when I find myself in a situation where it’s obvious I need to change, only then do I take the initiative to learn something new. Now I must master the time conundrum.
As parents, we have full-time jobs, especially when our keiki are young. My time is filled with tending to my family in one aspect or another. It is hard to find time for myself.
My husband is always telling me I need to create that time for myself and a friend of mine suggested that I do the things I love to do with my keiki in tow. So I’ve learned to delegate, delegate, delegate. Grandparents LOVE to spend time with their grand babies, and I love that hour to myself. If I don’t for see that time by myself I be sure to plan something fun for my keiki and I to do together. Because let me tell you, I don’t like spending my time running around in circles in my house all day.
It is possible to do what I want, I just need to take time in the morning to think about what I really want to accomplish that day and incorporate the plan to accomplish that mini-goal. Then, ahhhhh, everyday becomes a success and I’m not left in a conundrum wondering, just where did the time go?
