A Shriners Hospital team visits the Garden Island frequently to screen new patients with orthopedic conditions and to provide follow-up care for patients who are receiving ongoing care from Shriners Hospital, the hospital said in a news release.
To qualify, children must be under age 18 and have a treatable orthopedic condition. All care at the hospital is provided regardless of ability to pay.
The Shriners of the Aloha Temple also provide transportation funds to eligible patients to bring them from Neigbor Islands to the Honolulu hospital.
A doctor’s referral is not necessary for care at Shriners Hospital. To schedule an appointment, call Sandy Zukeran at (808) 951-3614.
