Kudos, too, to Dave Walker and the Rotarians for hosting the Celtic Pipes and Drums of Hawai‘i on Friday afternoon at Hofgaard Park (no pipes for 28 years, Dave?) and at the Hanapepe Art Night.
Alice Parker and Jacqueline Windsor-Ramos rode The Kaua‘i Bus all the way from Lihu‘e to enjoy the music (Alice said Robert Burns is her favorite poet).
Kaua‘i Fire Chief Robert Westerman had the $4,000 giant check presented by Keoki’s to Kaua‘i United Way (he said Sharron Weber took pictures) when he dropped off a new printer for the Waimea Theater.
Sandy Poehnelt (she’s having heart-shaped pie pops for the Zonta Eat Dessert First event) said she could hear the music, but couldn’t see the pipes since they played at the church.
