HONOLULU — The Kaua‘i Red Raider and Kapa‘a Warrior girls soccer teams traveled a long way to face each other.
Both the Red Raiders and Warriors lost in the Outrigger Hotels & Resorts/Hawai’i High School Athletic Association Girls Soccer State Championships Division II semifinals Friday afternoon on O‘ahu.
The No. 2 Red Raiders, dealing with injuries and sickness, dropped a 3-1 decision to No. 3 Hawai‘i Prep, while the unseeded Warriors’ Cinderella run came crashing to a halt with a 2-0 loss to No. 1 Mid-Pacific.
The losses set up a match between the Red Raiders and Warriors this afternoon with the state’s third place ranking on the line.
The Raider and Warrior Wahine will take the pitch at 1 p.m. today in the Main Stadium at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex.
