Registration is being accepted for the January Bicycling Traffic Skills 101 Class, which will be held Saturday near the Department of Water in Lihu‘e.
During the class at 4398-B Pua Loke St., bicycle riders will learn bicycling skills needed to ride safely and legally in traffic, as well as on trails under different highway, climate and terrain conditions.
Other topics include basic bicycle maintenance, including how to fix a flat.
The class is recommended for all bicycle riders ages 14 and older.
Participants are asked to bring their own helmet and a bicycle in good working condition.
The registration fee is $50 and includes lunch.
Interested bicyclists are encouraged to register early, since class size is limited.
The class is sponsored in part by Communities Putting Prevention to Work, Kaua‘i Path and the League of American Bicyclists’ Smart Cycling Program.
The class will be offered again on Feb. 18 in Lihu‘e and on March 2 at the Kapa‘a Public Library.
