Robert Tamura was doing The Happy Camper thing, traveling to Hanapepe Stadium for a JV girls’ soccer game, going back to the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center for the county’s youth basketball game, and then returning to Hanapepe for the varsity girls soccer game where his granddaughter Kaylee Tamura was upgraded from the JV ranks to varsity.
And Robert had his ‘ohana sitting next to Jane Garma (Uncle Tony helps coach the Menehune), so it was definitely exciting.
Joyce Evens wanted to do the soccer games, especially the boys varsity, but was afraid she couldn’t make it to Kaua‘i High School for the boys basketball game (Uncle John Kaneholani was there, along with coach Phil Baclayon).
Leah Aiwohi had her video crew out in force and JK had Brandon Fujita and Kevin Medeiros doing voice for the game (Ralph Suniga was thinking about doing voice for the Raiderdome, but…) which went to the wire, Kaua‘i pulling off a 42-39 win.
OK, Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Happy Birthday to Donald and Dr. Ronald Fujimoto!
