Ron Wiley was getting a charge from his 15th anniversary of his proposal to Laura gift Wednesday, sounding the charge for all the guests at the Blood Bank of Hawai‘i luncheon, as well as letting Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. listen to it.
Ron was on the radio all morning about his 15th anniversary and was the talk of the Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort and Spa when he showed up to emcee the luncheon. Congratulations, Ron and Laura!
Mayor Bernard was pretty busy as well, going from the luncheon to receiving artwork from Blaise Domino who is a “chartographer,” and finishing up by blessing the new Kapa‘a bus stop.
He followed Wednesday by taping his “Together We Can” television show with Sandy Matsumoto and the Drums Alive crew in Hanapepe. If you haven’t experienced it, check out the mayor’s show for the next two weeks on Ho‘ike Community TV (hoike.org) and from next week, it’ll be on the county’s website (kauai.gov).
Sandy was with Aaron Uyeda and Melanie Okamoto at the Monday night opening of the county’s youth basketball program where they told me about the Thursday taping and Melanie and Mary Daubert got to experience the drums as well.
