LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Police Department is asking for the public’s help with finding two missing girls.
Mikela Mahinai-Gonsalves was last seen on Nov. 29, when she did not return home from school and has not made contact with her family since. She may be staying in the Kapa‘a area.
Mahinai-Gonsalves, 16, is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs roughly 150 pounds. She has dark brown hair, brown eyes, tan complexion and a medium build. She is of Hawaiian descent.
She has a nose ring, pierced ears and noticeable scar on her right middle or ring finger.
The other girl, Shyanne Kanahele, 15, of Kekaha, was last seen on Oct. 24. She has not made contact with her family since. The family believes she may be staying on O‘ahu.
Kanahele is of Hawaiian descent, is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs roughly 120 pounds. She has shoulder-length brown hair, brown eyes, a medium complexion and a thin build.
