Two men were arrested and two suspects were being sought following a robbery at a gas station in Koloa early Wednesday in which the lone employee was held at knifepoint, Kaua‘i police reported.
The lone employee, Michael Bajit, said assailants held him at knifepoint at the Chevron gas station and convenience store on Poi‘pu Road about 2:20 a.m.
Clarence Kane, 21, of Koloa, and Kalai Vicente, 18, of Kapa‘a were arrested on charges of first-degree robbery. They were held in lieu of $100,000 bail, according to a KPD news release.
Bajit said he suffered a black eye and bruises to his body during the attack by the men he said were wearing black face paint and wearing long-sleeved shirts.
“They stole cigarettes, money and booze,” Bajit said, adding that the robbery was captured on the convenience store’s surveillance cameras.
Police said they were looking for two male suspects, urging anyone with information to call 241-1687 or CrimeStoppers at 241-1887, the news release stated.
The value of the stolen items was not disclosed.
