Kudos to Andrew Pascual on a great job with Party Rock 2011 on Friday night at the Kukui Grove Center!
Art Umezu said the event not only closed off 2011 with a bang; it was Andrew’s senior project at Kaua‘i High School.
Angelo Catiggay (where was Kenny Ishii?) said Ryland Balbin, one of two artists at Party Rock 2011, was his nephew so he came to support him.
Art said Angelica Camarillo, the other participating artist, was the daughter of Chef Rafael Camarillo of the Courtyard by Marriott at Coconut Beach.
Chef Raf would’ve been there, but was probably busy getting ready for all the New Year’s Eve stuff at the Waipouli resort.
And speaking of Kenny Ishii, he was thinking of going to Hanalei to pound mochi with Rodney Haraguchi’s family (see what you did, Ed Kawamura? You got him excited)!
And another round of kudos to Phil Baclayon and the Kapa‘a High School basketball program on its great six-team tournament!
It was a great preview for the KIF boys’ basketball season which starts Wednesday.
