There was a lot of great basketball being played on the courts and fans got to see a preview of the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation boys basketball season which opens Jan. 4 when Kaua‘i travels to Waimea and Kapa‘a junior varsity goes to Island School.
Mahalo to Reggie McCabe for making sure we got a copy of the game schedule.
Ross Shimabukuro opened up the Raiderdome, Wednesday for the Seabury Hall girls game and even had Richie Ogata (got to go try that breakfast, soon) deliver dinner for the visiting Maui team.
In the meantime, Rodney Ventura showed there’re more than the little hammerheads we keep seeing anglers pull up at Nawiliwili Harbor. Maybe one of those NYC Father’s Day kids snagged one of those “Nawiliwili monsters” but couldn’t land it.
Happy New Year, Kaua‘i! If you didn’t get any Hannah Huang mizuna, you’ll have to wait until next year.
