Christ Memorial Episcopal Church of Kilauea welcomes the Rev. Robin Taylor to its flock, according to a press release.
Taylor, who began work as the Clergy in Charge in August 2011, will become Vicar of Christ Memorial upon her ordination to the Sacred Order of Priests today at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Lihu‘e.
Originally from Maryland, Taylor graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Va. and was ordained as a Transitional Deacon in June.
The Rt. Rev. Robert Fitzpatrick, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Hawai‘i, will ordain Taylor on behalf of The Rt. Rev. Eugene Sutton, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland.
Prior to her entrance into the ordained ministry, she served as a physician assistant in family practice and internal medicine for more than 30 years, according to the release.
During that time she was a leader of medical missions to Panama and Haiti. She and her husband, David, have three adult children and one grandchild.
Christ Memorial holds weekly Sunday services at 8:30 a.m. A service of Advent Lessons and Songs will be held Dec. 18. The Christmas Eve Candlelight Eucharist will be held at 7 p.m., with a piano prelude beginning at 6:45 p.m.
The Christmas Day Eucharist will begin at 8:30 a.m.
