WAIMEA — A Waimea Valley man is reportedly dead, although unconfirmed, after being shot by Kaua‘i Police Department officers today. The man was apparently a suspect in a domestic stabbing incident late morning or early afternoon, which is also unconfirmed.

Police closed off Menehune Road at the Maile Road junction near the scene of the police-involved shooting, north of the Menehune and Ape Place intersection, which is the scene of the alleged stabbing.
Kaua‘i Police Chief Darryl Perry is scheduled to hold press conference at 3:30 p.m. regarding the incident.
