Passion is what drives a person. There is a widely known quote that says, “If you are passionate about what you do, you won’t work a day in your life.”
A group of Kapa‘a High School economics students have the opportunity to explore their passion as young entrepreneurs through a California-based Virtual Enterprise program. Here, students create and run a “virtual” business.
This year’s Virtual Enterprise Company is called 808 FUSE, an acronym for “Fun Using Sustainable Energy.” The concept of the company revolves around the idea of promoting fun, food and products that are eco-friendly and will help reduce its carbon footprint.
Virtual Enterprise Coordinator and Director Christine Farina obtained a grant from the Annie Sinclair Knudsen Memorial Fund through the Hawai‘i Community Foundation.
This foundation supports programs and organizations that benefit the people, flora and fauna of Kaua‘i. The Virtual Enterprise grant will cover the cost of company uniforms, the printing of our catalogues, business plans, employee manuals, company brochures as well support the open house of the company, which the community can look forward to in the spring.
