WAINIHA — The county Department of Water has completed repairs to its automated pump control system and full water service has been restored to Wainiha and Ha‘ena.
Water conservation measures are no longer requested of those communities, county officials said in a news release Tuesday.
The pump system was apparently damaged and did not activate automatically when the water levels in the tank diminished on Saturday. The system has been fully repaired, however the cause of the damage in unknown at this time.
The Department of Water would like to thank customers in Wainiha and Ha‘ena for their extraordinary conservation efforts and their patience as the department worked on repairs and getting the tank back to capacity, the release states.
