LIHU’E — A portion of Kuhio Highway on the North Shore has reopened after the rising level of the Hanalei River caused its temporary closure, according to the Kaua’i Police Dispatch Center.
The road was shut down for a few hours in the vicinity of the bamboo patch to the Hanalei Bridge.
A flash flood watch remains in effect for Kaua’i County until 6 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. A flash flood warning was canceled at 5:27 p.m.
A flash flood advisory is in effect until 9 p.m. tonight.
