LAWA‘I — Kaua‘i police arrested 33-year-old Norman Bukoski Jr. on Tuesday for first- and second-degree negligent homicide and first-degree negligent injury, county officials said in a news release Wednesday.
The arrest came after an extensive investigation into a traffic collision that occurred on Kaumuali‘i Highway near Kahili Mountain Park on Jan. 19, 2010.
The Grand Jury indicted Bukoski on Oct. 27, 2011, alleging that the Lawa‘i man operated his vehicle in a negligent manner while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, thereby causing the death of Tomas Garcia Jr. and causing serious bodily injury to Aaron Marvin.
Bukoski posted $50,000 bail and was released to appear for arraignment and plea on Nov. 15.
