LIHU‘ E — Mason Hunt had four goals and Ha‘o Trugillo finished with a hat trick to lead Team Onipa‘a BU10 to a 12-0 win over the Herricanes, Sunday at the North Vidinha fields.
Playing in the Kaua‘i Soccer Association, the league finished its sixth week of play in the fall season and Team Onipa‘a ended with a 6-0 record and 18 points, tying the Westside Falcons BU10.
Nainoa Ragragola and Kylie Sugihara scored goals for the Westside Falcons in its 2-0 win over the Pohaku GU10 for the tie in the division standings.
With the loss, Pohaku GU10 drops to 3-3 and nine points. Pohaku BU10, battling to a 1-1 tie with GIFC Red BU10, is at 1-4-1 and four points while GIFC Red BU10 holds a 1-3-2 record and five points.
Northshore Lighting, taking a 6-0 win over Team Chikara GU10, is in second place with a 5-1 record and 15 points in the Under 10 division.
Under 12
Douglas Sears finished with a hat trick and Kyla Bandsma added a goal to lead the Westside Falcons BU12 to a 4-1 win over the NS FC Rainbow Ninjas who got its sole score from Jordyn Ferguson.
With the win, the Westside Falcons BU12 finished Week 6 with a 5-0-1 record and 16 points, tying the GIFC Orange BU12 who finished with a 5-0-1 record following its 2-1 edge over Team Chikara BU12.
Gabriel Franklin and Seth Kostelecky notched goals in the GIFC win while Kalia Shimabukuro prevented a shutout with a goal for Team Chikara.
April Barnes netted two goals and Cambria Ort added a goal to lead the Kaua‘i Extreme Strikers to a 3-2 edge over Pohaku BU12 who got goals from Joseph Durocher and Tayedyn Francisco.
The win puts the Extreme Strikers GU12 at 4-1-1 in the division standings for second place followed by Pohaku GU12 at 3-2-1 and 10 points.
Faith Blalock had the sole goal to lead Pohaku GU12 to its 1-0 edge over the KSC-Blazing Angels GU12 for the third place division standings.
Team Chikara Red GU12 battled Team Onipa‘a BU12 to a 0-0 tie, Team Onipa‘a ending with a 3-2-1 standings and 10 points followed by Team Chikara Red at 2-2-2 and eight points in the division which includes 10 teams.
Under 14
Isiah Duldulao finished with a hat trick with Caitlyn-Amber Owen and Ryan Ruiz each adding two goals to lead the Westside Falcons Under 14 to its 7-1 win over the KSC-Blazing Angels Under 14 who got its sole score from Kailana Kaimina‘auao.
The victory keeps the Westside Falcons in the leaders’ spot with a 6-1-0 record and 18 points, typing the GIFC White BU14 team who enjoyed the bye over the weekend.
Lyndsie Kashima netted two goals and Kristin Kawamura added one to lead the Kaua‘i Sparks to its 3-0 win over the Pohaku GU14, the win improving the Sparks to 4-2-0 in the standings with 12 points while Pohaku drops to 1-5-0 and three points.
Vanessa Hernandez chalked up the only goal for FC Northshore in its 1-0 edge over the Kaua‘i Extreme Strikers, the Strikers still holding an edge over FC Northshore in the standings with a 2-3-1 and seven points while Northshore is at 2-4-0 and six points.
Under 15/17
Rachael Hinkel had the hot foot for Ha‘aheo who took an11-2 and 11-1 wins over the KSC Blazing Angels.
Hinkel finished with four goals in Ha‘aheo’s 11-2 win and netted another three goals in the pinkshirts’ 11-1 win.
Isabelle Curtis, getting a goal in the first game, added a hat trick in Game 2 for Ha‘aheo.
Caitlyn Rapozo, the Kaua‘i High School football team’s kicker, added a goal in Game 1 and two goals in the second match.
Jannin Hashizume finished with two goals in Game 1, Malu Vegas also adding a pair and Marissa Ruiz getting a goal.
Game 2 scorers Kyren Ishikawa added two goals and Sanoe Taniguchi-Simbre added one.
Joni Hashizume and Cassie Wilson netted goals for the Blazing Angels in Game 1, Casey Nakamura getting the Angels’ sole score in Game 2.
With the win, Ha‘aheo improves to second place in the division standings with a 4-3-0 record and 12 points.
GIFC Blue BU16 tops the division with 5-0 record and 15 points.
Games continue Sunday at the North Vidinha fields starting at 11 a.m.
There is no charge to view the competition and Masa’s Shave Ice wagon is available for light refreshments.
