LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Police Department has begun updating its business contact list and is asking Kaua‘i business owners to provide their current contact information online.
“We are asking businesses to go to the KPD website and fill out their contact information on the business registration form,” said Capt. Michael Contrades with the Patrol Services Bureau in a county news release. “Dispatch uses this information when there is an urgent situation at an establishment such as an unsecured door or window or other security and safety matters, and the owner or manager needs to be notified.”
Contrades noted that dispatch is in the process of converting from a manual record-keeping system to a computerized, records management system, and thus now would be a good time to update their contact information.
To access KPD’s business registration form, please go to the police department’s website, www.kauaipd.org, and click on the business registration form link.
For more information, contact KPD Dispatch Supervisor Kathleen Langtad at 241-1722 or klangtad@kauai.gov.
