HANAMA‘ULU — Police arrested 29-year-old David Borges Tuesday morning at a Hanama‘ulu residence, a county news release states.
The arrest was made at approximately 9:30 a.m. by the members of the Kaua‘i Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team.
The Hanama‘ulu man had been on the lam since last Wednesday when he eluded police by running into the bushes near the Kaua‘i Beach Resort, the release states.
Borges was charged with multiple offenses including: three counts of contempt of court; second degree criminal trespass; first degree extortion; prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia; third degree promoting a dangerous drug; resisting an order to stop; second degree robbery; and two counts of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.
Borges is currently being held in police cellblock in lieu of $71,500 bail. His arraignment has not yet been scheduled, the release states.
