LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Police Department has arrested two men for stealing an ATM machine with an undisclosed amount of cash from Anchor Cove Shopping Center in Nawiliwili on Sept. 26, county officials said in a release Tuesday.
Joseph Rapozo III, age 26, of Anahola was arrested on Sept. 29 and charged with first-degree theft in connection with the ATM robbery.
Rapozo was also charged with the following offenses: felon in possession of a firearm; possession of drug paraphernalia; resisting arrest; revocation/modification of probation; second-degree assault of a police officer; and second-degree promotion of a dangerous drug.
He is incarcerated at Kaua‘i Community Correctional Center in lieu of a $69,000 bail.
Alvin Isobe, 48, of Kapa‘a was arrested Monday for first-degree theft in connection with the ATM robbery.
Isobe is being held in police cell block with bail set at $30,000.
His arraignment is tentatively scheduled for today.
