Kudos to Mary Bea Porter King, Ron Pereen and all the Kaua‘i Junior Golf Association parents in making the Kaua‘i/Atlanta Team Challenge a great event!
Alton Amimoto took vacation so he could properly chaperone his two golfers and Beth Tokioka and Glenn Tamagawa did a great job emcee-ing the picnic, Friday at the Lydgate Park main pavilion. Paul Togioka, Grammy nominee, had his special seaside guitar to do his slack key stylings and KJGA even had Owen Ota, one of the originators of the Challenge, enjoying the fun.
Jade Waialeale (she had a blessing in Kalaheo, too) was impressed with the scope of the tournament which is celebrating its eighth run. Next year, Kaua‘i travels to Atlanta.
Liz Ann Vidinha (she has the original Holiday Inn name tags) and her Easter Seals crew were enjoying the evening before checking in on the Courtyard by Marriott at Coconut Beach’s Movie in the Park (except everything moved into the Chart Room in anticipation of night rains).
OK, time to get ready for the resumption of KIF fall sports and the AYSO playoffs.
