HANAKAPI‘AI — A 28-year-old female visitor from Montreal, Canada, was airlifted from near Hanakapi‘ai Falls after injuring her ankle Saturday afternoon, a county news release states.
Kaua‘i Fire Department reported that the woman reported having broken her ankle while at the Hanakapi‘ai Falls at about 5:04 p.m. KFD Rescue 3 and Air 1 responded to the call.
KFD Rescuers aboard Air 1 located the female about 200 yards below the falls and airlifted her to the Princeville Airport, where awaiting medics transported her to Wilcox Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.
No word on the injured woman’s condition was given following treatment.
