Waimea High has received a new sound system in the school’s Clem Gomes Gymnasium because of a generous donation from the Gift Committee of Waimea High School Class of 1962, according to a news release.
In a letter from the Gift Committee, the selection for a new sound system for the gym was chosen “because it will benefit so many people, especially the students and staff.”
The new sound system was installed by Kaua‘i Electronics before the current school year and is used during girl’s volleyball games, school assemblies and for future events in the gym.
Waimea High School’s Principal Nely Caberto and Athletic Director Jon Kobayashi thank the class of 1962 for this gift to their school.
“The consideration of giving back to their alma mater is greatly appreciated and this addition to the school most definitely benefits all,” the release states. “Waimea High looks forward to having the Class of 1962 visit the school in the spring of 2012 coinciding with the Class of 2012’s graduation.”
